and this heatwave (and heat advisory) is over, if you live near the coast

The Alemany gap is one of the first places to get fog, other than the Golden Gate and Pacifica.and it’s centered on upper Alemany Boulevard in San Francisco.. City College of San Francisco sits almost dead center of that gap, as anybody who’s gone there will tell you the place is usually windy and cold while the rest of California is baking in the heat

Maclaren Park is also in the gap, as is Geneva, and most of the Excelsior

This is about 6pm in San Francisco. When a heatwave breaks, you can get 40F degrees difference depending if your inside or outside the fog, in less than 1 mile(2km). it’s our natural air conditioner. This summer weather pattern is unique in all the world

One hour later, 7pm, it’s getting thicker…people are wearing overcoats and sweaters at City College now

7:30pm, WTF happened to MT San Bruno?..

8pm, 2 hours later, Mt San Bruno is just plain gone..It’s solid fog all the way into Candlestick Point now…by morning, the entire city of San Francisco will be fogged in

Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead grew up in this Fog Belt – Alemany Gap….just down the street…In fact, it’s now an officially named amphitheater in this same MClaren park. That’s about as San Francisco as you can get
