Nortenos wage campaign of terror in the Mission: Just as the bars closed for the night, at approximately 
2:10-2:30 of Sunday morning (Sept. 9) a group of about 10-15 norteno gang members went on a rampage at the corner of 24th and Shotwell. They literally stopped cars driving down 24th Street and threatened drivers. They also threw rocks and bottles and vandalized parked cars. The gang members then fired several shots into the air, from what I presumed to be fully automatic handguns. SFPD responded rather quickly after shots were fired, but the gang members got away. I overheard the gang members saying that this was their barrio.
Could be that the gang is trying to intimidate people in the neighborhood before the injunctions are enforced. Stay safe out there!
