posted on SF Gov today, I just want to respond to this last part Daly said ” I further challenge the press to cover the real news that should be alarming San Franciscans— and that is not whether or not the Mayor has been doing cocaine— but whether or not San Franciscans who are most vulnerable have access to proper health services. Regardless of income, San Franciscans with substance abuse problems should have the support and services to overcome their addiction, and homeless individuals should be given a dignified respite from the streets.”
Yep, indeed, that should be alarming San Franciscans, but not for the same reason you think, Chris.. What’s alarming is people with substance abuse are not getting the treatment now, so why would anybody think funding increases or decreases would make any difference at all?. Maybe these ‘supportive housing’ places and substance abuse centers should start doing their job with the current funding instead of spending all that time on political campaigning, eh?. Maybe that should happen FIRST, then they get more funding. Doesn’t that seem fair?
