A San Francisco homicide trial notable for the presence of a prominent defense attorney on the jury ended in deadlock Tuesday — but not before the panel cleared the defendant of first-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter.
The jury split 7-5 in favor of guilt on a voluntary-manslaughter charge against Mikel (sic) Harris, 45, in the May 8, 2009, death of Andre Fluker, 41, outside Harris’ room in a Tenderloin residential hotel.

But since then, new evidence has come to light that the DA was unaware of, that was posted right here on Bluoz. In this post (murder at the Dalt) you can see the assistant district attorney make a comment on the post looking for the person who wrote the post. Bluoz blog has since connected the two and the trial is starting this week with jury questionnaires yesterday, jury selection on Thursday, and the trial starts September 20, 2010 at Department 19 on the 2nd floor at the Hall of Justice, 850 Bryant
The only charge that the jury will consider is voluntary manslaughter with most of
the same evidence although Mr. Bellemare will be an addition and will testify. Basically it’s the same SRO where the murder took place and the new evidence will show there is a prior history of really bad behavior
