a possibly ongoing series of rare stuff by San Francisco bands. The criteria: Never released, and probably never will be released, and not for sale anywhere
The first one is by legendary San Francisco psychedelic group It’s A Beautiful Day. On May 23, 24, 25, 1968 It’s A Beautiful Day performed three nights at the Fillmore auditorium, five months before the first album (pictured) was even recorded, and three months before they hired their first electric guitar player, Hal Wagenet, who is on the first album. It is some of the earliest known recordings by the group. ( the earliest is 1967). Personnel during this time period are David laFlamme(electric violin, vocals), Linda “Neska” laFlamme(hammond b3 organ), Pattie Santos(vocals), and Mitchell Holman(bass). Only one song at a time due to bandwidth. Note : this is a soundboard recording
