so the Chronicle might shut down.
this one is an easy fix. They should do like Randy Shaw and Tenderloin Housing Clinic does with beyondchron.org (the supposed answer to the Chronicle itself)
All the have to do is set up a non profit, open a couple of crack hotels for the homeless, and use that money to run an online newspaper at the taxpayers expense. Why bother with advertisements and subscription when you can have the government pay for it? Want to know how easy it is?..Just ask Randy Shaw. he’s been doing it for 20 years
Even better, the Chron doesn’t even have to sell the building. They can sign a ‘master lease’ with the city, convert half the building into a homeless shelter/affordable housing that houses the homeless camped out directly below the Chronicle in the alley that runs underneath the building. They could then have C.W. Nevius run the shelter under the guidance of Randy Shaw, then Nevius could really report on these issues, and he only has to walk to the other side of the building to get to the keyboard
Is this the perfect solution or what?
