rare video of John Lee Hooker and the Coast to Coast Blues Band, live at the Stone on Broadway, San Francisco, March 30, 1985, posted by the keyboard player that night, Jeff Vash
An extremely RARE video of”The Hook”, John Lee Hooker, and The Coast to Coast Blues Band playing the tune “Goin’ Down”, live, at The Stone on Broadway in San Francisco on March 30th 1985! The players are… Mike Osborn on guitar, Larry Hamilton on bass, Roy Rogers on guitar, Tim Richards on drums, and myself, Jeff Vash sitting in for the evening on the Hammond B3! This video was shot by a house videographer on VHS from side stage, so go easy on the quality…..but the spirit of the evening is untarnished! I would like to give a very special “thanks” to my friend Ron Combs for making this night possible, and for finding this footage after looking for almost 30 years!!!!! Way to go Ron!!!! Hope you all enjoy!!!
And yet another SUPER SUPER RARE video of the Godfather of the blues, John Lee Hooker, performing the tune “I Didn’t Know” , live, at The Stone on Broadway in San Francisco on March 30th 1985!!!! The players are, Mike Osborn on guitar, Larry Hamilton on bass, Roy Rogers on guitar, Tim Richards on drums, and myself, Jeff Vash, on the Hammond B3! This was recorded on VHS by one of the house videographers from the side of the stage, so the quality is on par for the era! Special thanks to my good friend, Ron Combs, for making this special evening happen, and for finding this footage after searching for almost 30 years!!!!! Hope you all enjoy!!!
Ok folks…..Here we have a VERY VERY( you have no idea) RARE video of one night that I, Jeff Vash, sat in on the B3 Hammond with John Lee Hooker and the Coast to Coast Blues Band at The Stone on Broadway in San Francisco on March 30th 1985, performing the song “BOOGIE CHILLEN”, and who comes walking out on stage to jam with us? None other than the infamous Carlos Santana!!! The band at this time consisted of……Mike Osborn on guitar, Larry Hamilton on bass guitar and vocals, Tim Richards on drums, Roy Rogers on slide guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar and vocals!!!! This video was shot onstage by one of the house videographers, so it’s only showing one side of the stage, and also done with VHS, so the video/audio quality isn’t the best, but you can still feel the boogie!!!! And I would like to give special thanks to my friend Ron Combs for making this special night happen, AND for finding this video after looking for 27 years!!!!!!
