update December 16, 2010, this video has been removed because there is a dvd being released of the entire day at Chet helms Tribal Stomp 1978 soon
legendary San Francisco group, It’s A Beautiful Day, reunited at the Chet Helms tribal stomp, Greek theater, Berkeley, October 1, 1978
This is nearly all of the original members from 1968, minus Pattie Santos and who didn’t show on the advice of her attorney. This was also the reason why it was billed as “It Was a Beautiful Day” because they had lost a court case against their former manager in 1973 over naming rights (trademark)
David LaFlammes current wife, Linda Baker LaFlamme, then known as “Dominique”, took Pattie’s place. The keyboard player is the only other non-original member as the original Linda “neska” LaFlamme had left in 1971, replaced by Fred Webb, who also didn’t show. The keyboard player at this show is none other than Mitchell Froom, who went on to produce numerous gold and platinum albums over the years >
