This is a very rare film about Oakland jazz legend Vince Wallace by Goro Toshima called Green Vinyl Shoes. Goro made it while a student at Stanford University in 1996 and there are only two known VHS copies that exist. This is digitized from Vince’s only copy a few years ago and has since been stolen. The only other copy is at Stanford university under lock and key and they don’t lend it out
A previous upload on Google video was incomplete and can’t be fixed as Google Video has now shut off all uploads, so this is the first time the complete 43 minute film has ever been shown publicly.

Also, the opening song in the film is Bombay Calling, made famous by It’s A Beautiful Day and then Deep Purple. The original song, in the film, is an instrumental parody about US television shows in the 50’s and Hollywood’s questionable portrayal of the middle east, which makes it relevant today. Bombay Calling was written in the early 60’s but wasn’t put on a Vince album until 1974, and was never issued on CD
