As of today, these are a little mature, but probably still edible, although they&#8217;ll be going downhill pretty soon as more rain comes in. Mycologists, along with the gardeners might want to go down there and positively ID them so the next fruiting can be used. The mushrooms do not harm any of the strawberry plants growing nearby and actually help the plants absorb nutrients from the soil > <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mykoweb.com\/articles\/gardenmushrooms.html\">San Francisco Mycological Society garden mushrooms<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thinkdiscussact.org\/farm\/\">FARM website<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bluoz.com\/blog\/index.php?\/archives\/624-guerilla-gardening-in-SF.html\">previous post<\/a><\/p>\n<p>[color=red]update > there is the possibility these oysters are absorbing heavy metals from the previous industrial site as they were planted at the base of the garden back in March as part of a possible &#8216;bio-remediation effort&#8217;. It&#8217;s recommended to have them tested for heavy metals.
