The others were in New York and Los Angeles.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s colorful history includes a lot of great music and a lot of hard partying and superstar craziness. At the opening night gala, for instance, John Lennon and Yoko Ono showed up dressed as trees.<\/p>\n<p>The local preservation effort is being led by Mari &#8220;Mack&#8221; Tamburo, a singer who lives in Mill Valley with her husband, former Plant owner and engineer Arne Frager.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The building is in limbo,&#8221; she says. &#8220;There&#8217;s been a lot of misinformation about its status, but the bank owns it.
