Lived on Haight Street for years, then in San Jose and Santa Cruz where his family is today<\/p>\n<p>aka The Prison Song, recorded by original Quicksilver Messenger Service, Jefferson Airplane and Moby Grape member Skip Spence shortly after release from a mental hospital after taking acid and going at the door of a fellow band mate with an axe<\/p>\n<p>The Album is called OAR, recorded in Nashville in 1969 and Skip is the entire band, played all instruments<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/Abvqf5lsFdg&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/Abvqf5lsFdg&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>A tribute album called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/More-Oar-Tribute-Alexander-Spence\/dp\/B000050HTL\">More Oar<\/a> was recorded in 1999 by the likes of Tom Waits, Robert Plant and Beck<\/p>\n<p>Oar, to this day, is considered one of the most enigmatic solo albums of all time, a true solo album where all the instruments, parts and vocals were done by one person<\/p>\n<p>PS, if you read the Wiki page, there&#8217;s a mention that Skip recorded a song for the X-Files just before he died.
