{"id":2596,"date":"2015-10-16T05:56:07","date_gmt":"2015-10-16T12:56:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bluoz.com\/blog\/?p=2596"},"modified":"2015-10-16T18:58:48","modified_gmt":"2015-10-17T01:58:48","slug":"mattole-river-meets-the-sea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bluoz.com\/blog\/2015\/10\/16\/mattole-river-meets-the-sea\/","title":{"rendered":"Mattole River meets the sea"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Almost the furthest west you can possibly go in California, it&#8217;s the lost coast of California, where the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mattole_River\">Mattole river meets the sea<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cape_Mendocino\">Cape Mendocino is not far away from here<\/a> but it&#8217;s not the westernmost place in the continental USA. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cape_Alava\">Cape Alava, Washington is<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cape_Blanco_%28Oregon%29\">Cape Blanco in Oregon<\/a>, depending on how high the tide is. Seems to be <a href=\"https:\/\/storify.com\/allochthonous\/the-most-westerly-point-in-the-us\/elements\/4ea915d9b72ac862751661ed\">quite the controversy<\/a>.
