But the trail to the top has been closed for 5 years and <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.sfgate.com\/stienstra\/2015\/08\/01\/lassen-peak-trail-reopens-for-summit-trek-in-land-of-smoke-20-pic-gallery\/\">recently reopened in August 2015<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a data-flickr-embed=\"true\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/9640932@N04\/9778664064\/in\/album-72157635572620701\/\" title=\"IMGP5413\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3692\/9778664064_4943eec664_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"424\" alt=\"IMGP5413\"><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>These photos are from September 2013 when the last 500 feet of trail were still closed, but you could still hike to the end of the trail, but not to the very top. That means you could only get a south view and here is what it looked like.
