Nor can gentrification be meaningfully slowed without nonprofits acquiring sites and building their own affordable housing; in the Mission, shockingly few nonprofit family housing sites have been acquired in recent years, and activists cannot expect market-rate developers to simply pass up available land.<\/em>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Randy Shaw apparently doesn&#8217;t know what the term &#8216;affordable housing&#8221; means. Affordable housing means housing that &#8216;people&#8221; can afford. People, as in everybody. That includes working people too, not just Care not Cash. Randy Shaw and THC which runs Beyondchron.com only deals with &#8216;Care not Cash&#8221;, or people with NO income. This is not affordable housing.
