Not 100% sure, but it looks like we have a pair of breeding hawks at the San Francisco federal building now. and I think they’re building nest in the top canopy. The two hawks have recently been perching on the very top canopy on the 7th street side, and you can see them from the street, and even in this photo<\/p>\n

the only better vantage point would be the east apartments at the Soma Grand or some rooftops along Stevenson near 7th<\/p>\n

the two hawks are regularly chased and harrassed by seagulls and crows, even on top of the federal building<\/p>\n

There have been hawks for awhile in the Mid market area, but I think these are the first ever photos and video of a new pair that is regularly together. They are perched on the federal building roof nearly every day, off and on, all day<\/p>\n

From my vantage point it looks like the nest is on the west side of the federal building, away from the street on the interior of the top canopy. I can’t see any nest from here, but the two fly into the canopy all the time<\/p>\n
