So why would the San Francisco Chronicle not want you to see a commendation signed by the Board of Supervisors and the Mayor?. and,<br \/>\n12 WHEREAS, The Center recycles 220 tons of glass, paper, aluminum and plastic<br \/>\n13 materials monthly and provides recycling services to over 2000 redemption and drop off<br \/>\n14 customers and over 150 commercial and residential accounts and provides recycling for<br \/>\n15 special events at Golden Gate Park each year at no cost to the City; and,<br \/>\n16 WHEREAS, The Center provides educational service to two high schools and 100 to<br \/>\n17 200 students and teaches 40 to 50 community service workers and volunteers annually and<br \/>\n18 offers job skills training to San Francisco Conservation Corps interns; and,<br \/>\n19 WHEREAS, The Center is a tour destination for the Recreation and Parks<br \/>\n20 Department&#8217;s &#8220;Youth In-Action&#8221; and provides physical activity for two programs for the<br \/>\n21 developmentally disabled and materials for teachers and artists; and,<br \/>\n22 WHEREAS, The Center assists and supports the San Francisco Community Recycling<br \/>\n23 Center&#8217;s (SFCR) Building Resource facility at the Presidio and services SFCR&#8217;s supermarket<br \/>\n24 sights at Church and Market Streets, Webster and Geary Streets, and 7th and Cabrillo; and,<br \/>\n25  WHEREAS, HANC advocated in 1987 and 1999 for the California Bottle Bill and for the<br \/>\n2 source reduction and recycling element of San Francisco&#8217;s Recycling Master Plan; now,<br \/>\n3 therefore be it,<br \/>\n4 RESOLVED, that the City and County of San Francisco commends the Haight Ashbury<br \/>\n5 Recycling Center for their invaluable and imaginative contribution to the citizens of San<br \/>\n6 Francisco and the United States.<\/p>\n<p>File Number: 002207 Date Passed:<br \/>\nResolution commending the Haight Ashbury Neighborhood Council Recycling Center for their twenty<br \/>\nseven years of providing recycling and other services to Haight Ashbury residents and the citizens of<br \/>\nSan Francisco.<br \/>\nJanuary 2,2001 Board of Supervisors &#8211;
