\nCity lies to chase Farmers Market to Parade<\/p>\n

On Wednesdays and Sundays we have the Civic
\nCenter\/UN Plaza Farmers Market. It is a joy
\non every level. This Wednesday, guess what
\nhappened?<\/p>\nWell, my friend Ania Wierzbowska who goes
\nthere every Wednesday said that when she went to
\nget the last tomatoes of the season today that
\nthe place: “Looked like a tornado had gone
\nthrough.”.<\/p>\nShe said that the vendor told her that City
\nemployees (hello Amy Brown?) had come to tell the
\nfarmers who had set up at 6am as usual (I shopped
\nthere at 7am and all was well) … that the City
\nhad come by to tell the farmers that they all had
\nto be out of the place by noon.<\/p>\nSeems the asshole City employees claimed that
\nthey had informed the farmers on Monday that they
\ncouldn’t set up there this Wednesday because there
\nwas going to be a parade.<\/p>\nProblem is that that’s a lie. The Giants
\ndidn’t even get into the World Series until late
\nMonday evening. None of the farmers had heard
\nanything not had their co-op management (a woman
\nand her son working out of a van for 15 years –
\nlots cheaper than the staff Brown wanted to hire).<\/p>\nThis is another attempt by Department of Real
\nEstate Empire Builder Amy Brown and her aide, John
\nUpton to drive the farmers out of control of their
\nown market in UN Plaza. They tried and failed
\nlast year.<\/p>\nWanna know how well Amy runs markets? A
\ncouple of days ago she was before a Board committee
\nexplaining how she was completely re-arranging the
\nAllemany Market of which she grabbed control a
\nyear or so back. She was busy moving stalls and
\nraising rents … the place has been in operation
\nfor 100 years and she’s fucking it up.<\/p>\nHands off the UN Plaza Farmers Market!!<\/p>\n
The farmers should sue the bitch.<\/p>\n
