Pablo Cruise, Sausalito Arts Fest, September 9, 2000
This concert is special because original bassist and singer Bud Cockrell was there. Bud Cockrell
died in March and there's also a
facebook tribute page. Bud didn't play much with Pablo Cruise since he left in the 70's after recording the double platinum seller A Place in the Sun, which he wrote, so this is a rare appearance by Bud and possibly his last ever recorded show with Pablo Cruise. Rest in Peace, Bud!

Pablo Cruise on Wiki. One of the highlights here starts at 50 minutes, and is 'I Go to Rio' where there is a drum and bass solo between Cockrell and the drummer that really brings the house down and is a good example of how good this band got live. About as intense as anything the San Francisco Bay Area ever put out there
for a brief moment in time
Bud was also married to Pattie Santos, the lead singer of the legendary San Francisco band
It's A Beautiful Day who died in a car crash in Sonoma in 1989. This album was released in 1978, the year after A Place in the Sun in 1977. Bud himself played briefly for IABD in concert in the early 70's, which is how he met Pattie
